A gentleman farm in the Appalachian Mountains holds memories of horses, fishing, picnics, and good family cheer. The old barn was the site of slumber party hi jinx, the mysteries of milking cows, and watching animals being born. We spoke of "whales" but actually meant holes out of which water was drawn.
