How wonderful to arrive and Kyoto and find that the trip coincides with the Cherry Blossoms. "Cherry Blossoms" needs to have capital letters when speaking about their performance in Japan. It's not just one or two trees scattered about -- it is masses of towering, weeping, bridal-veil white, pink, magenta, taupe cherry blossoms! Kyoto is filled with canals and ponds and so most of the blossoms are reflected. Every glimpse is beautiful. Kyoto loves the arts and the "blooming" is one of the most revered and lovely events of the artistic season.
