The 2003 Season at UCP's Centre Art Gallery
December 20, 2002 UCP's Centre Art Gallery opens its first full season since renovations with
on January 9, 2003. Bianco organized and arranged this special solo show in honor of her cousin, Richard "Stevie" Stevens, a 57-year-old man with cerebral palsy and with whom Bianco has had a very special bond. There will be a full opening reception January 9, 2003 from 6:00 p. m. to 9:00 p. m. The show will run until January 29.
This show will display Bianco's various watercolors and pastels. "My concentration is on what I consider beautiful. I want to show the world, not as it is, but as I imagine it could be."
Bianco is a full professor of theatre at the University of Pittsburgh and has been the Director of the Unversity of Pittsburgh Bradford theatre for the past 28 years. Bianco has displayed pieces in galleries, shows and competitions including Box Heart Gallery, West Branch Art League, Bradford City Hall Art Show, Southwestern Pennsylvania Regional Art Show, South Allegheny Competition and The Aqueous, 2000. Additionally, Bianco is a member of artists' groups including the Pittsburgh Watercolor Society, Pittsburgh Society for Artists and the Pittsburgh Watercolor Gallery.
UCP's Centre Art Gallery is located in the Community Service Centre at 4638 Centre Avenue in North Oakland. The art gallery was originally established in 1993 and has exhibited more than 45 shows. The Centre Art Gallery hangs shows that have a wide variety of perspectives of life. The gallery additionally provides access to artwork for individuals with disabilities along with guests of the gallery, visitors to the center and the employees of UCP. Gallery hours are from 8:00 a. m. to 9:00 p. m., Monday through Friday.
